GAIA PACHAMAMA MOTHER EARTH OUR PLANET

Grounding down in the five senses.

I see tropical lush greens, tons of nature, abundance of animals and insects, I see smiling faces, tan skin. I feel warmth, cool breeze, moist air, I feel calm, peaceful, centered, brave, happy, beautiful. I hear birds, trees dancing in the wind, waves colliding into the ocean's vastness, I hear planes, trains, bikes, motion, I hear laughter, beautiful soft words, beats of the live music. I touch soil, soft skin, faces that I adore, freshly bloomed flowers, dead ones too, I touch fruits, plentiful. I taste the fruit, sweet, sour, bitter, spicy, astringent, pure, raw, whole natural foods, I taste fresh kisses, full of inspiration. I smell fresh salty air, sweet fruit, sweet flowers, fresh clean skin, sweaty salty armpits, I smell the clear water.

Mother Nature for me right now is everywhere, she is everything.

She surrounds me,  and also guides me. I have never felt as connected to nature as I do now, here in Bali. The sunsets are so special. It seems as if when the sun goes down here, in this culture where they live mostly outdoors through each of their days, this newly fresh energy of the day arises. A rebirth if you will -  of fresh smiles, fresh energy, to go out and about on the motorbikes, or to play amongst the streets. The light changes, the air cools down, it becomes calm and peaceful, yet playful, and motion-full.

I am so happy to be here, connecting with the natural world. As nature endlessly teaches me, it shows me patience, how to eb and flow with the natural rhythm of our planet's heartbeat. How to still the mind, center the breath, and live in my heart. Teaching me respect, to respect her wishes, her medicines she has placed in the ground. Teaching me curiosity, to play in the dirt, to use her sticks to build something, to plant something, to get her fruit from her tree.

She teaches me how abundant everything truly is.

On Nyepi - the holiday here that the Balinese celebrate, turning out all lights, all noises, everything comes to a stop. Silence and darkness. I was able to connect with the night sky in a way that I had never done before. Just me. Laying there under her beauty, her darkness. Her yin. Feeling so small. But inseparable from the stars.

This Island that is holding me, that is teaching me, I surrender to her. I give her my love and my respect. I give her these moments of my life.

I am her. She is me.
